Lesson 5.6 – Modeling the Hair

Please purchase the course before starting the lesson.

We'll look at drawing hair in this segment. The key here is to treat the hair as form – just like everything else on the portrait. We get into trouble fast when we think of the hair as made-up of "hairs" and try to draw those. Instead, think of the hair as falling in "locks" that wrap around the head. Each lock has a surface that reflects light, and turns away from the light from one side of the head to another.
